Storm doors have become very popular in many areas. A storm door provides energy efficiency perks, extra ventilation and natural sunlight options, protection of your main door unit, as well as extra security.
The question is, what kind of storm door should you be looking at? At Zabitat, we want to make sure we provide only the best storm doors available to make sure we’re bringing the most value to your home which is why we’ve partnered with Andersen Windows and Doors for their top quality storm doors. Here are some of the industry leading perks of choosing Andersen for your storm door needs.
1. Multiple Ventilation Options
The Andersen Storm doors provide flexibility in choosing the right ventilation system that’s right for your home. This could be based on your climate, your usage, or your preference.
The first option is a Fixed door. This is a piece of glass that is built into the frame of the door. It stays as 1 solid piece of glass. There is no ventilation but allows for a lot of extra natural sunlight into your home.
The second option is an Interchangeable door. This comes with both a solid piece of glass and a full-size screen. You can exchange the inserts whenever you deem necessary. Looking for ventilation? Put the screen in. Looking just for the sunlight? Swap it out for the glass insert.
The third option is a Single-Vent door. This option provides both the glass and the screen built into a single insert. No more swapping between the inserts. Ready for some fresh air? Use the built on handle to slide the glass down exposing the screen. Once you’re done, slide the handle up to seal the door again.
2. Quick Release Glass / Screen Exchange System
The Interchangeable door is one of the most popular ventilation choices with storm doors and the patented Quick Release Exchange System makes the swap out process flawless. Previous methods made swapping out the insert tedious and time-consuming.
With the Quick Release Exchange System, you simply use the handle to release the insert by flipping it upwards. The glass insert pops out of place for you to grab and replace with the screen insert (or vice versa). To lock the new insert, flip the handle back into its normal position.
3. TruScene® and Splineloc® Insect Screens
Splineloc® Insect Screen is designed to provide 3x’s the durability of a standard insect screen. It has a unique screen locking mechanism and a minimal center mullion bar for maximum durability.
4. Best-In-Class Installation Options
DIY projects that involved cutting can be intimidating and much more time consuming with a higher risk for errors. The Andersen Storm Doors provide an out of the box solution for installing the doors making it quick and easy. Rapid Install 1 option gives you a storm door that is preassembled to fit your door. Once you receive your door, take it out of the box, hang into place, and you are ready to start using your new storm door.
