Weekends are wonderful. Enjoying time away from work, spending it with friends and family, and of course knocking out some awesome projects around the house. For us DIYer’s, we’re always looking for the next project that can add value to our homes. But we need to spend our time wisely this weekend, so we put together a quick hit list of projects you can tackle in a short amount of time with the maximum value added to your home.
Add a Retractable Screen Door
Installing a retractable screen door into any entryway in your home gives you the option to open up your doors to fresh air on demand. Installing is super easy and takes less than 30 minutes. Having the screen retract into a housing is extremely beneficial over traditional screen doors, so it’s well worth the half hour to knock this off the list.
Upgrade Your Mailbox
Source: Architectural Mailboxes
Get rid of the old rusted mailbox and swap it out for a new one that will complement the rest of your home. Swapping out your mailbox is quick, easy, and inexpensive, but can have a big impact on your curb appeal if yours is dated and worn out.
Paint a Wall
Completely refresh a room by painting an accent wall. It ties in your rooms decor and makes for a more homey feel. Paint is inexpensive and a great way to freshen up a room. Plus, painting usually inspires other room changes along the way!
Remodel Your Door
Your entrance is everything when it comes to your curb appeal, and your door is the focal point. The good news is you can easily upgrade your door by simply adding decorative glass into it. No need for a complete replacement. Just cut a hole, pop-in a new decorative glass insert, and you’re entryway will look stunning. Plus, it usually takes less than an hour to knock it off the list.
Power-wash Your Deck
Your outdoor living area is a big part of your home. Having a dirty moldy deck can make that experience a drag. So take a couple hours with a power washer and make your deck look new again. It’ll be well worth getting a little wet. The difference is incredible!
